​HOW IS THE ORGANIZATION THAT RECEIVES THE DONATION CHOSEN?

• A member can submit a completed Grant Proposal Checklist form when arriving at the meeting.

• The Core Team will select, at random, three forms from those submitted.

• Each of the three members gives a short five-minute presentation as to why their chosen organization should receive the donation.

• A five-minute question and answer period follows.

• All members then vote for the organization of their choice, considering the need and impact on the local community.

• The organization with the most votes is awarded the total donation.

CAN I BRING A FRIEND TO THE MEETING WHO IS NOT A MEMBER?

YES!!  However, in order to vote they will need to complete a membership form prior to the start of the meeting.  These will be available during the social period.

WHICH ORGANIZATIONS CAN BE SPONSORED?

In order to be considered at a meeting:

• the organization must be located in the greater Oshkosh area

• it must be a non-profit organization recognized as a 501(c)(3)

• exceptions to the 501(c)(3) status, e.g., school districts, must be approved in advance by the Core Team (utilize the Contact Us section or discuss with a Core Team member)

IS MY CONTRIBUTION TAX DEDUCTIBLE?

• Yes, your total contribution is tax deductible.

• During meetings, checks are written directly to the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation Women Who Care Giving Circle.

• Core Team members deliver these checks to the Foundation.

• One check is written from the Giving Circle to the non-profit organization.

• Your tax forms will be sent to you directly from the Foundation.

HOW DO I CONTRIBUTE IF I CANNOT ATTEND A MEETING?

• You can send a check along with a friend, who submits it during the meeting.

• On our Home page, click on “Please click here to donate.”  This takes you to the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation home page, where you enter your monetary donation and choose the Women Who Care Giving Circle as the recipient.  Your donation will be included in the check delivered to the organization with the highest votes at the meeting.

• You will receive an email after each meeting to let you know the non-profit organization chosen.
